As a leading Managed
Security Service (MSS) provider, VeriSign invests significant MSS revenues
in research and development. We use proprietary systems combined with
best-of-breed, open source and third-party tools to deliver reliable,
efficient managed security services.

MSS Client Resource Portal
Every VeriSign®
Managed Security Services client has easy, secure access to the VeriSign®
Enterprise Security Portal for a dashboard view of critical information
as well as detailed reports and query tools. The security management
dashboard presents timely, accurate and relevant security information
tied to business value. An ad hoc query engine enables sophisticated
analysis of security events for each security device under management,
across platforms and locations. Access is secured with token-based authentication
and SSL encryption.
Security Defense Appliance
The VeriSign® Security
Defense Appliance (SDA) eliminates the footprint that most MSS providers
require when managing multiple devices at a client's site by opening
a single IPSec tunnel for all data traveling to and from VeriSign Secure
Operations Centers (SOCs). Installed on the customer’s premises, the
SDA captures security event logs and translates the information into
an independent data model that becomes the basis for the first level
of event correlation. The IPSec tunnel enables VeriSign engineers to
manage change and configure client devices across platforms without
access to customer’s actual data. A redundant, out-of-band dial-up modem
ensures consistent security protection, even if an SDA loses its VPN
connectivity.
VeriSign TeraGuard
VeriSign® TeraGuard™,
our proprietary information management architecture, abstracts device
data with one correlation engine to support multiple firewalls, IDS/IPS
and host platforms. From a single stream of security-related events
correlated from a number of sources, VeriSign TeraGuard analyzes and
prioritizes alerts based on industry benchmarks, client requirements,
and our own global security intelligence. Consistent, timely reports
are delivered to our SOC analysts and clients via the VeriSign Enterprise
Security Portal. This device-independent data collection format allows
a consistent level of service regardless of which security technologies
are deployed, and easily scales to accommodate new security or network
technologies.
Secure, Reliable Infrastructure
As the authoritative
registry for all .com and .net domain names, VeriSign is the leading
provider of critical infrastructure services for the Internet. VeriSign’s
Advanced Transaction Look-Up and Signaling (ATLAS™) global infrastructure
is a sophisticated software platform designed to scale the Internet’s
core infrastructure, the Domain Name System (DNS), and support the convergence
of voice and data networks. The ATLAS platform is deployed across global
data centers to provide fast, reliable response worldwide based on service
and performance needs. The redundant and secure design ensures availability
and system continuity as Internet traffic continues to grow worldwide.
