VeriSign is moving
towards becoming an EPP Registry for all the domains we manage.
Tv and .CC are now available via EPP, and on June 25th, 2005 .com and
.net will be able to be provisioned using EPP.

Phases of the Integration
The integration
is being split into two Phases. Throughout both phases of the integration
project Registrars can look forward to the following:
- Registrars can continue to utilize the RRP Production Environments:
- Guarantee & Overflow Pools
- Automated Batch Pool
- EPP will be an *optional* protocol for registrars in 2005.
Registrars will have the ability to use both EPP and RRP.
- RRP and EPP statuses will be displayed in the Web-Based admin tools.
- Registrars will connect to a new Name Store Production Server for
.com and .net.
- No domain name migrations will be required as part of this deployment.
- The Automated Batch Pool will not be migrated as part of this plan.
- AUTH_INFO command will not be enabled at this time. No validation
will be conducted by VNDS.
- WHOIS will only display RRP statuses.
Phase 1
Scheduled for June 25th 2005
The only change
in Phase 1 is a Protocol change. Registrars will have the option to
use EPP 1.0 or RRP 2.1.2 interchangeably.
Registrars that
elect to use the EPP .com and .net channel should keep in mind the following:
- All .com and .net transactions executed through this *new*
EPP channel will continue to be debited from your current .com and .net
Finance account. In other words, these debits will not be drawn from
your Name Store account.
- Registrars will
continue to use the current .com and .net web-based tool to manage domain
names, check their Account balance, and manage contact information.
In other words, you will *not* use the Name Store Manager tool
to manage this .com and .net inventory.
- VeriSign will begin
distributing a new weekly domain name report that will list all domain
names under specific Registrar management and their respective EPP and
EPP statuses.

the web-based Name Store Manager tool only.
- .com and .net Transactions will now be debited through a single account.
- Legacy .com and .net web-based tool decommissioned
- RRP access still enabled for Automated Batch Pool
