Overview
The South Dakota
Network, now SDN Communications, was formed in 1989 by the independent
phone businesses in South Dakota, to compete with the long-distance
offerings of national carriers. Today, SDN Communications runs the state’s
most extensive fiber-optic network and, in addition to telephone service,
provides broadband Internet service and video. The owners and staff
of SDN Communications are all residents of South Dakota, which allows
the company to better address the needs of its customer base.
Key Challenges
To continue to provide
competitive services and create more long-distance options for customers
SDN Communications needed to partner with a service provider that was
able to deliver offerings that matched those of the national carriers.

a valued partner that has been instrumental to our success.”

Solution
SDN Communications
partnered with VeriSign for VeriSign® Line Information Database (LIDB),
Calling Name (CNAM), and Toll-Free Database services, which provide
telecommunications carriers with a full spectrum of tools and services
that enable full featured, secure, reliable communications.
Results
- As a result, SDN Communications was able to offer
its customers reliable national CNAM services.
- Because these services were centralized with one provider,
SDN Communications was able to save both time and money.
